Description

SIMAGIC TB-Neo Handbrake – a highly adjustable load-cell handbrake designed for rally, drifting and drivers looking for greater control over the feel of their setup. SIMAGIC's TB-NEO  takes a different approach to a conventional sim racing handbrake. Rather than giving drivers one fixed feel, the TB-Neo has been designed as a modular platform that can be adjusted and upgraded as a driver's setup develops. Here's what makes it interesting.

100kg Load Cell Technology

At the heart of the TB-Neo is a 100kg load cell, paired with a 12-bit high-precision sensor providing 4,096 input steps. Rather than simply measuring how far the lever has traveled, the load-cell system allows the handbrake to respond to the force being applied by the driver. SIMAGIC has also introduced its Full-Range Adaptive Sensing Technology, designed to maintain detailed and repeatable input across both lighter and heavier handbrake applications. The result is a handbrake designed to give drivers much greater control over exactly how much braking input they apply.

Tune the Handbrake to Your Driving Style

One of the biggest features of the TB-Neo is its adjustable resistance system. SIMAGIC has taken inspiration from the elastomer-based tuning system used with its P1000 pedals. Drivers can rearrange and combine different elastomers to change the resistance, travel and overall character of the handbrake. This means you can create anything from a longer, lighter pull to a much shorter and firmer action depending on your preference. SIMAGIC provides several starting configurations, including: Light & Smooth Pull – longer travel with lighter resistance. Firm Stop – stronger resistance with a shorter, more direct action. Dual-Stage Feel – softer initial movement that becomes progressively firmer. Hydraulic Feel – a damped, more linear configuration when using the optional hydraulic upgrade. For drivers who switch between rally, drifting and other disciplines, that level of adjustment could be particularly useful.

Upgrade to Hydraulic

The TB-Neo isn't limited to its standard elastomer configuration. SIMAGIC has designed the handbrake to support optional P-HYS and P-HYSi hydraulic modules. Adding a hydraulic module introduces fluid damping to the lever, allowing drivers to further change the physical response of the handbrake without replacing the entire unit. That makes the TB-Neo particularly interesting as an upgradeable product. A driver can start with the standard load-cell handbrake and add more advanced functionality later as their simulator develops.

Add Haptic Feedback

The upgrade path doesn't stop with hydraulics. The TB-Neo can also support SIMAGIC's optional P-HPR and P-HPR GT haptic reactors. These allow telemetry-driven feedback to be transmitted through the handbrake itself. Rather than the lever only providing mechanical resistance, compatible haptic hardware can introduce additional physical feedback based on information coming from the simulator. It is another example of sim racing hardware moving beyond simple inputs and towards equipment capable of communicating more information back to the driver.

Horizontal or Vertical – You Choose

Cockpit compatibility has also been a focus. The TB-Neo can be configured in horizontal or vertical orientations, making it suitable for different styles of simulator. There are five handle-angle positions, alongside adjustable travel, spring tension, resistance, deadzone and response linearity. That gives drivers considerably more freedom when positioning the handbrake alongside their wheel, shifter and other controls. Whether you're creating a rally-inspired cockpit, drift setup or a more traditional road-car configuration, the same handbrake can be adapted accordingly.

Built for a Sim Racing Cockpit

The TB-Neo uses a die-cast aluminium construction with precision CNC-machined components, providing the rigidity needed when applying heavier loads through the lever. It weighs approximately 1.36kg and measures 209.5 × 73.5 × 382.5mm. SIMAGIC also includes mounting hardware for conventional bracket trays and aluminium-profile cockpits.

SIMAGIC Ecosystem Connectivity

The TB-Neo can connect directly to a PC using USB-C, while compatible SIMAGIC wheelbases provide additional connection options. Configuration is handled through SIMAGIC SimPro Manager, where drivers can adjust settings including deadzones, travel and input response curves. SIMAGIC's August SimPro Manager update also introduced official software and firmware support for the new handbrake.

A Handbrake Designed to Grow with Your Setup

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the TB-Neo isn't one individual specification – it's the modular approach. Sim racers often upgrade their setups gradually. A driver might begin with a basic cockpit before moving to Direct Drive, load-cell pedals, haptic feedback, motion simulation and increasingly specialised controls. The TB-Neo follows a similar philosophy. You can start with the standard 100kg load-cell handbrake, tune its mechanical resistance using the included elastomers and then potentially add hydraulic or haptic functionality later. Instead of immediately choosing between several completely different handbrakes, SIMAGIC is giving drivers more freedom to configure one around their preferred driving experience.

What Does the TB-Neo Mean for Sim Racers?

Handbrakes are particularly important for disciplines such as rally and drifting, where progressive control and consistent inputs can make a noticeable difference. The TB-Neo combines load-cell sensing with a level of physical adjustment that allows the same piece of hardware to accommodate very different driving styles. Combined with the optional hydraulic and haptic upgrade paths, it also demonstrates how quickly specialist sim racing peripherals are becoming more sophisticated.
